PROCESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER - Food Manufacturing

Job Function: Manufacturing Engineer/Technical

Description:
Multi-plant, develop process improvement capability and support process improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Enable and drive cost reduction activities throughout the cake supply chain by analyzing current performance using tools such as activity based costing and cost to serve to provide new insights.
  • Investigating the extent and impacts of process variability and failures.
  • Developing project plans with supply chain personnel.
  • Assisting with root cause analysis.
  • Develop organizational capabilities in lean management and established process improvement methodologies, such as deploy process improvement techniques and methodologies (IPM, Lean, Six Sigma) in the supply chain.
  • Support plant IPM managers in developing process improvement capabilities in plants.
  • Present process improvement results and opportunities, including requests for capital investment, to executive management.
  • Manage outside consultants and vendors in support of process improvement activities.
  • Position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Management.
  • Travel up to 75% to locations in the northeast US.

  • Position may also be based in Long Island, New York.

Salary Range: $85000-100000

Requirements:

  • Minimum Formal Education: 4-Year Degree, MBA is a plus
  • Experience in BSIE Industrial Engineering or operations management.
  • 10+ years experience in process improvement and optimization.
  • Familiarity with commonly used process control and improvement techniques (lean, SPC).
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and driving cost reduction activities. Excellent communication skills and strong business acumen.
  • Familiarity with management accounting concepts (standard cost, throughput accounting).
  • SQL, Access or other database experience is a strong plus.
